Into the Night is a music video made for the Norwegian artist Torgny, wherein the lyrics take over a concrete-filled Oslo in a display of light and text. What started out as an aesthetic exploration of the lyric video through simple projection techniques, gradually grew into a series of guerrilla light installations as a video projector was hauled to some of Oslo’s most iconic buildings and places.
The lyrics has come to represent one level of communication layered on top of another – the language of concrete structures and the human body. By juxtaposing images of the urban landscape with up-close footage of Torgny’s uncovered body, dissonance is explored as well as the similarities between humans and manmade artefacts.
